For over 2 years, VMPCRadio Mix FM has provided the best of both worlds. We stayed true to our commitment to serve the nation and the community for God's greater glory. In order to give you what is happening in our platform, Mix FM is delighted to bring you a behind the scenes look at our programming.
We've launched our internet-only programming last year beyond our broadcast hours through Indie Mondays and JazzTrax as a move to expand our lineup. By October of last year, we've added 20 The Countdown Magazine to our lineup serving as a pre-launch before regular airing happened in November of the same year right after a week-long programming break.
In January this year, we lauched three new shows from the BBC World Service aside from the five-day-a-week 5 minute newscast and the weekly Climate Question.
Throughout the yearend, we planned new shows to include in our lineup, including the extended Friday schedule. And we have tranches of our programming happened at the start of this year.
The First Tranche happened February 6, 2026 with the moving of JazzTrax to Fridays and the launch of The Weekend 22, Global Warm-Up, and Weekend Beats, ending our extended lineup at 7pm. Meanwhile, 20 The Countdown Magazine moved to Saturdays from Feb. 28 for its first-run airing and the original Thursday slot is reserved for the show's replay.
The Second Tranche of its programming had a soft-lauch of Christian Music Rewind last March 20 for a 2-week pre-launching period with a special airing on Easter Sunday before it will formally air on Fridays starting April 10. The Weekend 22 meanwhile will move to Sundays, while other shows from New Release Today Syndication will have Blessed Beatz, Movement Radio, and Behind the Tunes which will begin airing on the weekend of April 11-12, extending our online-only programming until about midday on Saturdays and Sundays.
Our original plan is to have Worship with Andy on our lineup but since January of this year, it became a paid service so we botched out of our plans. Asia Pop 40 happens to be in our lineup too last year, but due to some circumstances beyond our control and some unknown reasons, we pulled out of our lineup by this year.
Here's what happens then: After the end of our regular programming on 89.5 FM and livestream for about two and a half to three hours, we switched to our livestream-only programming during extended periods, everyday except Tuesdays & Wednesdays when we sign-off altogether on these two platforms.
Now, here's the best part, annually during Easter and Christmas, we add Music & The Spoken Word to our special programming since the music contained in those specials are free from copyrights (i.e. Public Domain music) which is according to the show's FAQ regarding the music in the program.
These online-exclusive shows are part of our whole day lineup of programming which begins early in the morning on radio (through limited coverage) and online for our expanded audience worldwide, but our schedule on radio has limits thus we only air 2.5 hours on-air, but for online, we lasted our programming from four hours to 15 hours per day, depending on our schedule. The big challenge here is stable connection to ensure seamless listening on our livestream platforms both on Caster (Primary, streaming on Opus codec) and on select streaming platforms (Secondary, streaming on AAC codec through a third-party streaming service). In the event a problem in one of our platforms, we need to shut down one stream and the other stream continues until sign-off.
Now, you can enjoy and listen to these shows online wherever you are in the Philippines and around the world without all the hastles. We assure our listeners of good audio quality at par with our standards to ensure that our shows will stream on schedule. All of each day's programming are posted on our Faceook page the day before.
Thanks for your continued support to Your Sound Alternative. Rest assured that you keep on listening to our shows everyday as wee keep you infomed, entertained, and blessed right here on VMPCRadio Mix FM.
