Radio has been the ever-changing medium in terms of programming. It has a diverse program options ranging from News, Entertainment, Information, and Public Affairs. In terms of religious contents, Radio also has its goal to uplift the spiritual needs of its listeners.
Through the years, the tradition of praying the rosary on Philippine airwaves began after Venerable Patrick Peyton held the first rosary rally in Manila. The nightly rosary program on AM began in the 60's on DZPI-AM, and soon other AM stations followed suit. At the turn of the 80's, DWLL-FM became the first FM station in the country to air the daily recitation of the rosary. Most private stations and church-run stations on the radio used their time either in the early morning or at nighttime to provide a platform to pray the rosary. As time passes, only a handful of stations (either privately-owned or church-run) continued their daily practice at certain times daily.
VMPCRadio lead the role in its early morning programming, which has been a practice in some stations, to begin with the recitaion of the Holy Rosary. The practice began in 2023 and it continues to this day. Later on, it added the daily recitaion of the Divine Mery Chaplet as a way to lead us to Jesus, the King of Mercy.
Upon the launch of its programming blocks on April 3, 2024, VMPCRadio introduced it as Morning Glory, a program block comprises of prayers, music, and information to keep you inspire and motivate each day. The Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet are now under the said block, along with daily devotions from Our Daily Bread, music fillers, and world news updates from Vatican Radio, BBC World Service, and Voice of America, and topping the block is the daily weather forecast provided by PAGASA, with tropical cyclone updates if extreme weather occurs in any part of the country.
This way, Morning Glory aims to keep the listeners energized, informed, and blessed, with your daily dose of spiritual excercises and up-to-date world reports and weather updates.
Morning Glory airs from Monday to Saturday at 4:30am for a full package of Spiritual Contents, Music, and News Updates for 90 minutes; while Sundays will be more on Spiritual Contents and Music for a full-hour from 5am.
(NOTE: Morning Glory is pre-empted on the first and last Mondays of each month. VMPCRadio dedicates the first Monday of the month for a weekly sign-on playlist from 5am-6:30am, and we are off-the-air on the last Monday of the month for a regular maintenance and live programming break)
